My podcast site shows the integration of technology into other learning areas.  The students have used their literacy skills to draft, edit and refine scripts for their podcast about topics they have been learning about.

I have attached an example created by year 2 and 3 students.  I have added video to the clip (and converted it to a WMV file) to show you how confidently students of all ages are using technology and how much they enjoy it!

3in6 Competition

The students who I entered in the VITTA 3in6 (there is an email I wrote after it on the home page) competition spent the day with me (I did the lessons I would usually have on that day in my release time for a couple of weeks) to create a 3 minute film in 6 hours.  Both groups won an award.  To make the process valuable, both groups created a DVD with 'special features' explaining what they learned and the process involved.  They also included tips and bloopers!

I organised a successful 'Premier Viewing' where parents and teachers watched the DVD on 'the big screen' whilst sipping on sparking apple juice and eating crackers.  Parents and the leadership team alike were amazed at how much the students learned from the experience.  On the evening, they were already talking about how they could go better the next year.

You will find my students' winning entries under the primary division  (years 5-6)  when in fact most of the kids were in year 4 at the time!
